Program: Brian Ruiz, candidate opposing John Carter, District 31, will be our speaker. Brian, an Austin native, has been involved in Democratic politics from his earliest years, first through his parents’ involvement, then through his own. He and his wife, Rebecca, have two children, and it was being a parent that made him aware of the effects of legislation and policies on families, especially in the areas of health, education and war.
