Speaker: Bob Moser, the newly appointed editor of The Texas Observer, will speak to the group. Mr. Moser was the former editor for The Nation Magazine and a John S. Knight journalism fellow at Stanford University. He also wrote the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Report on American extremists regarding the religious right and the anti-immigrant movement.

The Sun City Democrats will meet at 9:30 a.m., December 1, 2007, in the Sun City Ballroom for the annual Holiday Party and report on the club’s progress during the year 2007. A variety of refreshments and beverages will be provided at no cost to the members. All you need to do is come ready to meet with your fellow Democrats for a pleasant beginning for the Holiday Season and a brief business meeting.

Time: 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Event: Election Night Party. Come join us for an Election Night Party! We may not stay until we get final results, but there will undoubtedly be a lot of things to celebrate along the way. Impromptu end zone dances are welcome! We will have dessert, fruit, cheese and decaf coffee and teas. If you need stronger refreshment, feel free to bring it along. Speaker: Lulu Flores, President of the National Women’s Political Caucus www.nwpc.org. Lulu has been an active member of the NWPC for more than 13 years and has served in many capacities, including chair of the Hispanic Caucus. She is serving her third term on the board of the NWCP.
Ms. Flores is a member of the Hendler Law Firm of Austin, Texas, where one of her clients is the Mexican Bar Association of Texas. She is the Legislative Coordinator for the group when the Legislature is in session. She was the Chief of Staff of the late Texas House of Representative member, Irma Rangel.
