Speaker: Judy Hetherly, the first woman mayor for the city of Lampasas, will speak on the topic of the Texas Education Agency and how it relates to the Texas Board of Education.
Ms. Hetherly is chairman of the Lampasas Economic Development Corp. and serves on the Preservation Lampasas Inc. Board, which is heading up revitalization of the historic Lampasas Colored School.
A native of Texas, Mayor Hetherly graduated from high school in Lampasas and Southwest Texas State. She then earned her Master of Arts degree from Texas Woman’s University.
NOTE: Candidates for Sun City CA Board will not be speaking to us today. It was decided that there are many venues where they will all appear, and that it would take too much time away from our speaker. However, we urge you to attend the Candidate Forum on May 7 at 9:00 AM in the Sun City Ballroom or view it live on Channel 79. Please review carefully each candidate’s qualifications and background; this decision is very important to our future as Sun City residents.
Earth Day Fair: Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Location: Legacy Hills Park Pavilion
Time: 1:00 to 6:00 PM
Our 2nd Annual Earth Day Fair will be at the Pavilion this year The event will feature several ecologically minded clubs and organizations from Sun City and Georgetown.
