What does a County Judge do in Texas?

The County Judge is the top elected official in the county. The County Judge works with the County Commissioners to adopt a budget that covers the Sheriff’s Office, Roads and Bridges, EMS, the Justice System, and much more.

Williamson County Democrat candidate Blane Conklin is a Senior Analyst at the University of Texas. His office coordinates the benefits and insurance for 125,000 employees and retirees across the state. Over the past 13 years, he has developed software and managed projects in nearly every area of this office, which manages a $1.2 billion self funded medical plan.

Dr. Conklin earned a PhD from the University of Chicago. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the Round Rock Historical Preservation Commission.
